Here's a little bit about Karen, and a link to her blog:
Karen works as a freelance graphic designer and chronicles her before and after furniture projects at darlingoctopus.com. She uses her love of color and pattern to transform vintage furniture and houseware finds. DIY comes naturally to her and she is always looking for a new challenge.
Teaching all she has learned about furniture painting and refinishing hardly seems like work. Hanging out with a bunch of crafty people talking about furniture is always fun. Karen has been re-doing furniture for over 20 years and teaching furniture paint technique classes for the past 3 years.
She also contributes a bi-monthly DIY article to R•Home Magazine and regularly appears on Virginia This Morning sharing crafty project how-to’s.
When she is not at the computer or in the studio you will find her haunting the flea markets and thrift stores of Richmond. Her goal, taking unloved things and making them pretty.
