This bayonet is marked on both sides of the Ricasso.  One side reads "S.A." which stands for Springfield Arsenal. This same side also has "The Ordinance Department Flaming Bomb" and the date "1918".  the reverse Ricasso has serial number "906964".  

The 16" long blade has been slightly sharpened.  In addition, it has a deep parkerized finish.  The chiseled wooden handles are intact and undamaged.  The locking mechanism is functional.  

The First Type Leather Scabbard is marked "R.I.A" which stands for Rock Island Arsenal and dated 1906. Below the date are the inspectors initials "H.E.K.".  The leather is in excellent condition and all stitching is intact.  The wire bale for the belt attachment is missing. 

Measurement: 16" x 1" blade with overall length of 20 1/2".
